The Hulk is loose

"Based on Greg Pak's 2006-2007 arc in the 'Incredible Hulk' comic book series...'Planet Hulk' is an excellent addition to Marvel's lineup of animated features, and holds up well as a standalone film...a fun film that should prove entertaining for mainstream audiences and fans of the character."

Greg Pak nabs 2 besties

Greg Burgas (CBR) posts his Best of 2009 list and double taps INCREDIBLE HERCULES.

Best Ongoing Series:
"a blast to read. Pak and van Lente have been exploring the mythology of Hercules while keeping the action going, and this year saw more problems with the Greek gods and goddesses who were mostly in the background last year"

Best Single Issue:
"[The Incredible Hercules #136 has] phenomenal and hilarious sound effects, which makes this issue a delight. But it's also one of the better superhero fights we've seen in the past few years, and when we get a lot of superhero fights, that's saying something. Pak and van Lente are in top form"

Hulk on top

Greg Pak's PLANET HULK is one of Comics Should Be Good's "Top 100 Storylines"!

"Planet Hulk was an interesting idea for a storyline in that it tried to finally address the whole "Hulk just want to be left alone" idea. In Planet Hulk, the Illuminati (led by Reed Richards, Tony Stark and Doctor Strange) decided that it would be best if they finally DID put Hulk somewhere where he could be left alone. So they tricked him on to a spacecraft headed for a peaceful uninhabited planet....

Greg Pak did a very impressive job setting up this epic storyline slowly, and he did an especially cool piece of work developing Hulk's "Warbound" compatriots.

The art was strong, from a number of different artists.

The story ends with a cliffhanger leading into the follow-up crossover, World War Hulk (as Hulk gets his revenge)."

And, io9.com selects ROBOT STORIES for their "20 Greatest SF Movies of the Past Decade"!

Shortlisted for the summer

Greg Pak's SKAAR is top-notch summer reading.

Ain't It Cool News is excited that "now we get to see the Jolly Green Giant’s Lil’ Sprout tussle with the FF, She-Hulk, Norman Osborn, and allllmost take part in a slugfest with his father. Writer Greg Pak keeps this story moving at a brisk pace. He touches all of the bases in terms of plot. And in the end, this was probably the best gamma powered comic from Pak since PLANET HULK."

"Pak's handle on the characters, especially his usage of the FF makes for some great comic book reading.... This issue certainly has me excited." - ComicPants.com

Although Carrie Stetko, the lead in Greg Rucka's WHITEOUT, is no hulking monster, she's just as tough. The cool hunters at Thrillist.com couldn't agree more, especially when Kate Beckinsale takes on the role.

The book was inspired by a conversation between [Will] Dennis and Phillips about the Sean Bell shooting in New York and how those types of things happen...Cowboys challenges "racial perceptions and social perceptions."

of Birkin bags and Skrull infiltrators

Jo Barrett and Greg Pak have charmed the critics!

Publishers Weekly enjoys "[p]eeking into the misfortunes of formerly rich heirs of Houston's oil barons" in DON'T LET IT BE TRUE. "Barrett discovers a mixed Birkin bag of rueful romance and tongue-in-cheek mayhem. Barrett's wit makes watching these down-on-their-luck bluebloods reclaim their fortunes a fun little diversion."

Greg Burgas at ComicBookResources.com dubs Pak's INCREDIBLE HERCULES the Best Ongoing Series:

"Greg Pak and Fred van Lente’s adventures of Hercules and Amadeus Cho across the Marvel Universe is the best ongoing series out there. It’s very funny, but also filled with intense action and some incredibly devastating moments...it’s little things that make the comic wonderful - the identity of the Skrull infiltrator, the Japanese god who speaks in haiku, Amadeus’s desire for sex overriding his common sense. This is the most consistently entertaining comic on the stands right now, and although others in this category might be more 'classic,' I have a feeling I’ll still be re-reading this in 20 years and loving every panel of it."

These comics are nothing to laugh at...

they are premier series that take things up to a whole 'nother level!

MAGNETO: TESTAMENT is IGN's Best Miniseries of 2008.

"Greg Pak has spent years researching Magneto's past, mapping events in his life with true historical accounts of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. The result is a tragic tale that not only respects the horrors of that era but lays down a definitive, sympathetic origin for one of the greatest villains of all time."
Catch up on past issues before #4 comes out this Friday!

Greg Rucka and Duane Swierczynski are also featured in Comic Book Resources' Best 100 Comics of 2008:

"A diverse cast, political maneuvering and all-out spy action, all topped off with superheroes... an exciting read each month."

THE IMMORTAL IRON FIST (Written by Ed Brubaker & Matt Fraction, Duane Swierczynski)
"Brubaker, Fraction and Aja's run on “Immortal Iron Fist” established the series as a wildly inventive title that blends Kung-Fu action with a wide variety of genres, and current creators Swierczynski and Foreman haven't dropped the ball. Their run continues to be both fun and fascinating."
